Prerequisites for Enrollment:

  • Must be 18 years of age, before beginning the course;
  • Must have a current active Kansas CNA certificate, without prohibitions;
  • Must have computer and internet access to complete the online portion of the class.

Required for enrollment:

  1. Two Personal Documents
    • Current state-issued photo ID and Social Security card
  2. Report of Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test OR TB Chest X-Ray Report)
  3. Flu Immunization for the Current Season
  4. Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination
    • Required by the clinical facilities.
  5. Kansas CNA number
  6. CASAS Or TABE Reading Test OR Proof of College-Level Writing Course
    • Schedule Exam $5.00 fee will need to be paid upon scheduling the exam
    • If you have taken a college-level writing course (English Composition, Expository Writing, etc.) and passed with a grade “C” or higher you will need to submit your transcript or grade report.

Pre-Requisites for enrollment:

  • Prospective students must hold the Kansas Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) credential, but are not active (certification has lapsed) and want to reactivate their CNA status.

  • Applicants must hold a Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services EMT Certification, Without Prohibitions. Information can be found at www.kemsis.org.

Required for enrollment:

  1. Two Personal Documents
    • Current state-issued photo ID and Social Security card.
  2. Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services EMT Certification, Without Prohibitions
  3. Report of Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test OR TB Chest X-Ray Report)
  4. Flu Immunization for the Current Season
  5. ​Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination​
    • Required by the clinical facilities.

Note:

  • Applicants must be at least 17 years of age by the start of the course.

Required for enrollment:

Required for enrollment:

  1. Documentation of Immunizations OR a Titer of Immunity for: 

MMR Documentation

  • Two (2) doses or proof of immunity by titer

Chickenpox (Varicella)

  • Two (2) doses or proof of immunity by titer
  • WILL NOT ACCEPT HISTORY OF CHICKENPOX - Chickenpox is an immunization that is often incomplete.  We can only accept proof of vaccination or a titer. We cannot take anyone’s testimony that you had chickenpox, not even a physician. Make sure that you have either vaccines or a titer. Paperwork for a low titer will not be accepted.

Tetanus (TDAP)

  • One (1) dose taken less than 10 years ago - Please ask your healthcare provider to give you the TDAP vaccine.

Hepatitis B (Hep B)

  • Three (3) doses or proof of immunity by titer. If your titer is low, you should get the vaccine. Paperwork for a low titer will not be accepted.
