DUTIES: - Perform a full range of Industrial Equipment Mechanic (Motor Vehicle Operator) duties for the Directorate of Public Works. This position may be hired at the WG-08 level or WG-10 level, depending on experience and qualifications. - This is a full-time, permanent position. - Troubleshoot, repair, and install a variety of complex systems and equipment involving power boilers with complicated components, critical requirements, and rigid tolerances. - Determine causes of defects and malfunctions on refrigeration and air conditioning systems and equipment, and of power boilers and equipment. - Determine repairs needed and adjusts and replaces parts. May perform related electrical, sheet metal, and carpentry installation and fabrication tasks, and/or small motor repair. - Responsible for the proper handling of specific hazardous wastes generated by the unit, activity or facility; operation of hazardous waste generation point, and supervising or assisting in emergency action involving hazardous wastes. ♦ For WG-10: Ability to do the work of an Industrial Equipment Mechanic (MVO) without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common repair and installation of commercial and industrial refrigeration and heating, air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC) units, as well as trouble shoot other industrial commercial systems such as boilers, water supply systems, gas lines and sewer systems. Utilize electrical and plumbing methods and techniques to perform maintenance and troubleshoot utility systems equipment and machinery, as well as conduct functional tests to assure safe operating conditions. ♦ For WG-08: Ability to do the work of an Industrial Equipment Mechanic (MVO) without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform some tasks related to repairing and installing commercial and industrial refrigeration and heating, air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC) units, as well as trouble shoot other industrial commercial systems such as boilers, water supply systems, gas lines and sewer systems. I utilize electrical and/or plumbing methods and techniques to perform maintenance and troubleshoot utility systems equipment and machinery.

The pay is $23.46 to $30.40 per hour (depending on qualifications).
