Tutor Center

As a way to increase student retention and success, the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) offers multiple options for Manhattan Tech students to receive tutoring and academic assistance.

Tutoring is offered on campus and online.  Peer Tutors are available in several academic areas on campus.  The TLC has also partnered with Brainfuse to bring live, one-on-one online tutoring to all Manhattan Tech students.  This includes access to an Online Writing Lab allowing students to work with professional writing tutors.

Here you will find more information about the tutoring and academic services offered by the TLC.

Peer tutors are available Monday - Friday for appointments and walk-ins.

For more information about peer tutoring or information about how to become a peer tutor please contact Darren S. Ortega, the Director of Academic Resources & Testing, at TLC@manhattantech.edu.

The easiest way to meet with a peer tutor is to come to the TLC and talk with one.  You can also send an email to TLC@manhattantech.edu.  Please be specific about what you need assistance with and when you are available.

Check message boards and bulletin boards for information about our peer tutors.  We also encourage all students to attend a math or writing recitation, and one of the TLC study seminars.

Brainfuse HelpNow offers students free, live on-demand tutoring in a variety of college subjects.  Students communicate in real-time with a tutor through the Brainfuse Online Classroom.  Tutoring sessions can be saved and viewed later for review.

Students also have access to the Brainfuse Online Writing Lab.  The writing lab allows students to submit written assignments for review by a professional writing expert.

To access Brainfuse you must have a Manhattan Tech username and password, and be signed into MATConline or Canvas.  Click here to get started, or contact the TLC today for a demo.

Brainfuse tutors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in math, writing, and reading.  Other subject areas are available according to the schedule listed HERE.
