Short-Term Health Pre-Enrollment Verification Form

MATC STUDENT ACCOUNT CREDENTIALS EMAIL

• Once the "Short-Term Health Pre-Enrollement Verification Form" is submitted, admissions will review your submission within five business days.
• If all required documentation is provided, you will receive an email to the personal email address listed on the initial application. Follow the steps to reset the password for your MATC email account.

COMPLETE FINAL ENROLLMENT APPLICATION 

• You will find a link to the enrollment application in the student account notification email, which must be completed along with the required course payment. This application and payment must be completed to finalize your course enrollment.

These course is NOT ELIGIBLE for financial aid. For any inquiries related to financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office. Information on alternative payment options/scholarship/benefits, in lieu of out-of-pocket costs, can be found HERE. 

The Emergency Medical Sciences (EMT) course is Kansas Promise Scholarship Eligible.

Financial Aid Eligibility

Please note that short-term healthcare courses are NOT eligible for financial aid, with the exception of the Phlebotomy course, which is eligible only if taken as part of the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. For any questions regarding financial aid, please reach out to the Financial Aid Office.

Veteran Benefits (VA) Eligibility

At Manhattan Tech, we proudly support students utilizing VA benefits through five different benefit chapters:

1. Chapter 35 DEA: This is a stipend benefit only; tuition and fees are not paid to the student, requiring upfront payment to the school.
2. Chapter 33 Post-9/11: Tuition and fees are paid directly to the school.
3. Chapter 31 VR&E: Tuition and fees are paid directly to the school.
4. Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB): Tuition and fees are paid to the student, requiring upfront payment to the school.
5. Chapter 1606 MGIB Selected Reserves: Tuition and fees are paid to the student, requiring upfront payment to the school.

Important Notes about VA Benefits:

• Students using VA benefits for CNA or CMA courses will be considered less than half-time students.
• Students in EMT and AEMT courses will be considered at three-quarters time status.
• Students in the Phlebotomy course will also be considered less than half-time unless enrolled in the MLT program alongside other MLT courses.
• For certain chapters, like Chapter 35, you may need to provide a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility (COE). 
• Students looking to use VA benefits will need to complete the Veteran Enrollment Certification (VEC) form to get started

My Career Advancement Account Scholarship Program (MyCAA) Eligibility

If you are a spouse of an active-duty service member (ranks E-1 to E-6, W-1, W-2, O-1 to O-3), you may qualify for the MyCAA scholarship. You’ll need to work with a MyCAA Career Counselor to determine eligibility. The process includes uploading an Educational Training Plan (ETP) provided by Manhattan Tech for approval.

IMPORTANT NOTE: MyCAA covers tuition only; fees must be paid out-of-pocket by the student.

Tuition Assistance (TA) Eligibility

Students wishing to use Tuition Assistance for short-term healthcare courses must submit a request via their ArmyIGnited portal. An Evaluated Degree Plan (EDP), provided by Manhattan Tech, must be uploaded and approved. Once approved, you can request TA to cover your course costs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: TA covers tuition only; fees must be paid out-of-pocket by the student.

Scholarship Opportunities

Various scholarships, such as Heartland Works and Fairy Godmothers, are available to help cover the costs of short-term healthcare courses. Each scholarship has different eligibility criteria and application requirements. Most scholarships cover both tuition and fees.

Kansas Promise Scholarship (KPS) Eligibility

The Kansas Promise Scholarship is available for CNA, Phlebotomy, and Advanced EMT courses ONLY. To be eligible, you must meet specific criteria, including being enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, completing the scholarship application and FAFSA, meeting residency and income guidelines, and signing the KPS service agreement. Tuition Sponsorship Eligibility

Under a tuition sponsorship, an organization or employer may cover all or part of your tuition and fees. You will need to discuss the sponsorship details with your supervisor or human resources manager and obtain written confirmation from the organization indicating their intent to pay, specifying whether it is for the full or partial amount.

Example: A healthcare facility might sponsor a student for the CNA or CMA course. Typically this means the employer will pay for the course rather than the student, but the student agrees to work for the facility for a specified period. Manhattan Tech is not involved in that agreement.

Manhattan Area Technical College does not require vaccinations. Manhattan Tech partners with multiple health systems and healthcare providers to provide clinical and programmatic experiences for our students; many of our clinical partners require all students to have received COVID-19 and other vaccines before their on-site experiences and training may begin. As a result, unvaccinated students could be precluded from participating in these activities, potentially impacting their ability to complete all program requirements. 

Exemption Process

Students may seek a medical or religious exemption from an immunization requirement. Approval for an exemption is dependent on the clinical site. Below is the process for requesting an exemption:
