Emergency Medical Sciences

Approved by the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services, this program exceeds state and national requirements. Based on the National Standard Curriculum, it includes a minimum of 140 hours of classroom instruction on Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responsibilities, psychomotor skills, clinical and field experience, and simulated patient care. Students learn essential skills for working effectively as an EMT.

Advanced Emergency Medical Sciences (EMS)

This course is approved by the Kansas Board of EMS, prepares students for the role of Advanced EMT (AEMT). It exceeds state and national standards, requiring a minimum of 160 hours of classroom instruction, psychomotor skills training, and clinical and field experience. Students participate in hands-on learning, including 60 hours on an ambulance service, to build the knowledge needed for AEMT practice.
