Sump Restoration is a small, high-quality classic auto restoration shop located in Randolph, Kansas. We specialize in complete, show-quality restorations. Our focus is craftsmanship, precision, and pride in every detail. The owner works alongside the team daily, to maintain a family-oriented, supportive environment. 

We are seeking a skilled Classis Auto Restoration Technician who has experience in metal work, bodywork, assembly, paint preparation, and basic mechanical tasks. This role is hands-on and requires someone who takes pride in high-end craftsmanship, works independently and has an interest in classic automobiles.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience/background in classic auto restoration (non-collision)
• Strong metal and bodywork skills
• Experience with block sanding and paint preparation
• Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on ability
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to manage daily work flow
• High attention to detail, pride in workmanship
• Interest in classic autos and restoration craftsmanship
• Ability to meet physical job demands (lifting, bending, hands-on tasks)

Preferred (not required) skills:

• Automotive wiring and electrical diagnosis 
• Painting experience, ideally with the PPG system

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with assembly and disassembly of classic vehicles
• Perform metal fabrication, rust repair, and panel alignment
• Conduct bodywork including filler work and block sanding
• Perform full paint prep processes (masking and priming prep)
• Perform basic mechanical tasks (exhaust, fitment, minor mechanical adjustments)
• Troubleshoot restoration challenges with creativity and accuracy
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe workspace
• Communicate effectively with team members and shop owner
• Work with precision and attention to detail on every project

Salary/Pay

Salary negotiable based on experience. Full benefit package.
