The purposes of this policy are to articulate Manhattan Area Technical College’s practice regarding assignment of student credit hours, demonstrate compliance with commonly accepted educational practices, and ensure that the College awards educational credits in a manner consistent with federal regulations, the expectations of the Higher Learning Commission, and the policies and guidelines of the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR).
To ensure a consistent standard is used to determine the appropriate amount of instructional time required for a course, based on the type of instruction being delivered.
