Job Description

Position Summary

The Construction Laborer performs a wide range of physical and support tasks on construction sites. This role assists skilled trades, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and helps ensure projects progress efficiently. Laborers work under the direction of the Superintendent, Foreman, or other field supervisors.

Job Responsibilities

Site Preparation & Cleanup
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, removing hazards, and setting up work areas.
  • Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain site cleanliness throughout the workday and during project closeout.
  • Install temporary protections such as barricades, fencing, and signage.
General Labor & Support Tasks
  • Perform physical labor such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
  • Assist skilled trades (carpenters, masons, operators, electricians, etc.) with basic tasks.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment under supervision.
  • Mix, pour, or place materials such as concrete, gravel, or asphalt as directed.
Equipment & Tool Handling
  • Safely operate basic construction equipment such as compactors, saws, drills, and generators.
  • Inspect tools and equipment before use and report any defects.
  • Maintain proper storage and care of tools and materials.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training.
Project Support & Task Execution
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Assist with layout, measurements, and material staging.
  • Support installation of building components such as framing, forms, rebar, or utilities.
  • Perform demolition, debris removal, and site restoration as needed.
Teamwork & Communication
  • Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and needs clearly and professionally.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and jobsite conditions.

Salary/Pay

$20.00 per hour.
