Janae Haskell

Janae grew up in Dodge City, KS, a renowned little cow town with a wild west reputation. She moved to Manhattan, KS to complete her education at Kansas State University in 2007. In 2009, she spent a semester in Puerto Rico studying Latin American history and Spanish literature at the University of Puerto Rico. In 2010, Janae received a double bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and History (focus in Latin America) with a minor in Spanish. She went on to study linguistics and second language acquisition in the Modern Languages Department through the K-State Graduate School. She completed her graduate studies in 2013 with a Master of Arts in Second Language Acquisition (TEFL). Janae has worked with Manhattan area adults since 2014 in areas of English language acquisition and GED preparation. As an educator, Janae has found her niche in adult education and is excited to continue working with the Manhattan community at MATC. Her passions are gardening, DIY projects around the house, and reading. She does not have a favorite author, but she loves reading historical fiction and non-fiction books.
