Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at our 19,000 head feedlot in Herington, KS. We are looking for someone with a strong passion for animal welfare and husbandry, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must have a positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic. 

Prior experience preferred, but certainly not required.

Job Responsibilities

Specific may duties include:

  • Load, mix, and deliver feed rations according to feed delivery softwares
  • Ensure accurate and consistent feed distribution to assigned pens, based on assigned rations
  • Operate feed truck and related equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance daily, and report mechanical issues promptly
  • Monitor feed bunks during delivery and report abnormalities
  • Maintain cleanliness of truck, mixer, and feeding areas
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with feed management and livestock personnel
  • Operate equipment such as loaders, skid steers, tractors, and haul trucks
  • Haul and manage compost and manure as part of pen maintenance
  • Repair and maintain feed bunks, fencing, gates, water systems, and facility infrastructure
  • Support pen cleaning and yard maintenance efforts
  • Assist with snow removal and weather-related yard needs
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Working indoors and outdoors in all environments. Please be willing to work under harsh weather conditions when necessary to provide for the needs of cattle/livestock. It is expected that employees be cordial with other employees and supervisors.

Employees must prepare for physical demands including but not limited to walking, standing for long periods of time, and moving heavy objects.
