The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key player in the Big Lakes' Health Services Department. You provide direct, person-centered support to the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities we serve as well as providing training on medical aspects to our Direct Support Professional employees.
Minimum requirements include a State of Kansas Licensed Practical Nurse License, long-term care or disability service experience strongly desired. Strong assessment, teaching skills and a good driving record a must.
Responsibilities involve direct and indirect nursing care of clients to include medication administration, physical assessments, lab draws, transportation to appointments and staff training. Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday with on-call and occasional weekend and evening responsibilities.
Benefits include medical/dental and life insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and KPERS retirement program. Wage is $24.00 and hour and employees may be eligible for retention bonuses up to $2000.00 thorugh the second year of employment.
