Job Description

Konza Prairie Community Health Center (KPCHC) is looking for a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician to perform moderately complex testing under the supervision of a medical technologist. The lab technician will use sophisticated laboratory equipment and computerized instruments to test and analyze results. The MLT will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate about doing work that makes things move forward. The goal is to optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and accurate results.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent required.
  • At least six months experience meeting all CLIA-88 guidelines, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Current certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Computer skills for accurate data entry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive, label, and analyze samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.)
  • Execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures. make observations and interpret findings
  • Organize and store all chemicals substances and fluids according to safety instructions
  • Verify all data and results are transmitted into the Electronic Health Record with accuracy and responsibility
  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering and stocking laboratory supplies
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment

Salary/Pay

$20.00-$25.00/hour
