Manhattan Tech Online & On-Campus Courses
Procedure for Instructors

Instructors may arrange proctor services from the TLC.  The Achievement Center in the TLC is our full-service student testing center.

To assist with scheduling space and staff to meet proctoring demands, and to allow the staff to plan for potential students:

Instructors need to contact the TLC with the dates of all proctored events within the first 21 days of the semester.
Instructors need to contact the TLC with testing guidelines at least 48 hours before a proctored event is to begin. Guidelines should include dates the assignment is open, password, time limit, and resources allowed (e.g. open book, cheat sheet, calculator).

The TLC proctors will follow all instructor guidelines.

Find complete instructor guidelines regarding Manhattan Tech online courses HERE.

Procedure for Students

If you are a Manhattan Tech student the Achievement Center in the TLC can also be your full-service student testing center.  There are no fees for Manhattan Tech students to have their Manhattan Tech online course exams proctored in the TLC.

To assist with scheduling space and staff to meet proctoring demands, and to allow the staff to plan for potential students:

Schedule test sessions 12 to 36 hours in advance whenever possible.
Proctoring can be scheduled for the semester if preferred.

The TLC proctors will follow all instructor guidelines.

Accommodations for Students

If an exam or quiz needs to be made up, or a student needs to take a retest, instructors have the option of using the Achievement Center in the TLC.

Students may also wish to take exams and quizzes in the Achievement Center outside of class or to fulfill an accommodation.  If you feel accommodations are necessary or have questions regarding potential accommodations:

  1. Speak with your instructor(s) about your concerns.
  2. Complete the STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS REQUEST
  3. Testing is done in the Teaching & Learning Center only with an instructor’s approval, or by working through student accommodations.

All Manhattan Tech students and instructors are expected to follow proctoring policies and guidelines.  Please review the policies and guidelines for instructors and students HERE.

Important Notes
  • The TLC will not proctor for any student without prior approval from the course instructor, or Student Retention Specialist.
  • The TLC reserves the right to deny service to any instructor - or the student of any instructor - who has not followed the above protocols. In such a situation, students would be responsible for scheduling an alternative proctor.
