Job Description

The primary function of the Project Coordinator is to take Home Service Projects from Sales through planning, to production. This person will complete Project Planning work, Material Take off for Project, Site Visits with Trades, Internal Teams, and Clients. This role would be responsible for creating final project budget, reviewing with client, getting approval from client and contracting. Assisting production through to completion and insuring project billing is complete. This person will also assist in project completion as needed which could include self-performing various construction tasks to complete projects. This role will be accountable to clients throughout the project.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 Years of Residential Construction Experience
  • Project Management & Estimating experience preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of Construction and Construction-related processes
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Web-based applications 
  • Strong knowledge of proper English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and word usage 
  • Ability to communicate concepts, thoughts, and ideas both written and orally to others
  • A working knowledge of all trades associated with Residential Construction
  • A demonstrated ability to understand simple Plumbing, Heating, and Electrical systems
  • An understanding of the Building Code as it applies to residential construction
  • A demonstrated ability to create, read, understand, and communicate through Residential Construction plan sets
  • Ability to collaborate with people & foster client relationships
  • Must have strong organization, communication, and project supervisory skills
  • Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do initial project proposals

Job Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator is an integral and vitally important part of the FHI team, with responsibilities to the Production Department. Additionally, their responsibilities extend to upholding the reputation of the FHI name as well as building client relationships and creating a positive client experience.

Project Coordinator Primary Responsibilities:

  • Always deliver an exceptional Client Experience.
  • Work with the Sales department, Estimating, & Production to develop client relationships and projects
  • Take initial Sold Project Proposal and carry out Home Services Process & Planning
  • Complete all take off and material selections with clients, then document accordingly to process inside of BuilderTrend
  • Maintain current knowledge of construction codes and implement changes, as required
  • Complete field measurements on Home Service Projects, as well as all client meetings and project development on such projects
  • Write Complete Scope of Works for all projects and complete 
  • Complete Material Ordering and staging to ensure all projects are ready for production
  • Material Procurement for all projects
  • Utilize Home Services Metrics to maintain project volume and profitability
  • Foster relationship with estimator and grow an understanding and influence in project costs and processes
  • Keep the shop and yard areas organized and clean to help ensure success on projects.

Sales/Marketing:

  • Participate in Trade Shows and other marketing events, as required.
  • Assist Marketing and Sales as needed to grow the Home Services division

Production:

  • Visit Job Sites during production, when necessary, to gain feedback on the job and to learn from projects, along with becoming familiar with the Production Team
  • Supply information to the Project Managers for change orders, when needed
  • Convey all project information in a complete and organized manner to Production Team
  • Complete Material Procurement and staging in an organized way for jobsite efficiency
  • Complete Site Locates as needed
  • Award Trade Bids as required

Administrative:

General

  • Participate in weekly FHI Meetings as required by agendas and appointments 
  • Maintain and update Home Service Process as necessary for consistency.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of Production Job Binders 
  • Provide phone and walk-in Customer Service and office help, as needed.

Technology

BuilderTrend Project Management Software:

  • Educate Clients on BuilderTrend, become expert in aspects of jobs in BuilderTrend
  • Complete all necessary selections for Home Services Projects
  • Assist clients in the set up of BuilderTrend Client Portals for all new sold projects
  • Ensure appropriate files and documentation are added into the software to assist all departments in conveying and receiving the most accurate information.
  • Ensure complete accuracy in all recordkeeping and update client information and contact information, as needed

Leadership:

  • The Project Coordinator will embrace, support, enable and promote the FHI Core Values and Core Focus
  • The (PC) will always maintain a positive attitude towards FHI, other team members, office staff, vendors/trades, and FHI customers
  • Support and promote all FHI policies, procedures, and initiatives in a positive manner.
  • Bring any negative issues to the attention of the GM immediately. Provide recommendations for resolutions of these issues 
  • Ensure all non-employee vendors and trades maintain the highest regard for FHI when on our jobsites or communicating with our staff and/or clients
  • The PC will lead by example 
  • Consistently act with honor, dedication, and focus
  • The PC will continually educate and improve both professionally and personally.
  • Show an initiative to learn new skills, seek out the latest information and trends, grow creatively, and pursue continuous improvement 
  • Provide encouragement, recognition, constructive feedback and coaching to all team members 
  • Resolve all conflicts in a manner which benefits all parties involved

Salary/Pay

$50,000 to $55,000/year depending on experience
