Job Description

TITLE:          Skilled Maintenance – Level 1

 

REPORTS TO:         Director of Maintenance

JOB GOAL:

Complete maintenance tasks in a variety of general and skilled maintenance areas and assists in larger skilled maintenance projects to insure all systems are maintained in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times. Cross trained in all areas of general and skilled maintenance, relieving the District of dependence on outside contractors.

 

 

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Completion of an apprenticeship program or three years documented hands-on experience in one or more of the following skilled maintenance areas: HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, key/lock systems, or mechanics.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds chest high and repetitive lift up to 60 pounds.
  4. Working knowledge of District buildings and operations.
  5. Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and operations.
  6. Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  7. Must have current Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification 3B, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. 

Job Responsibilities

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responds to alarm system calls in all District buildings, determining necessary action, during and after regular school hours.
  2. Maintenance and upkeep of all district landscaping equipment, synthetic turf equipment, and snow removal equipment.
  3. Maintenance and grooming of synthetic turf at Bishop Field and elementary school playgrounds.
  4. Perform all aspects of turf management and grounds keeping at all district locations.
  5. Performs maintenance tasks independently in the following areas, including but not limited to plumbing, mechanics, painting, roofing, and cleaning equipment repair and maintenance.
  6. Provides help in the following skilled maintenance areas, including but not limited to key and lock systems, welding, carpentry, HVAC, and electrical.
  7. Performs HVAC filter replacement in all District buildings.
  8. Ability to effectively communicate and maintain harmonious relationships with district staff and coworkers.
  9. General maintenance duties in the schools as assigned by supervisor.
  10. Other duties as designated by supervisor

Salary/Pay

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve-month contract.  Salary and work year as established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel.

SALARY:  $15.00 to $18.50/hour DOQ
