Grading Scale for Course if Different than MATC Standard Scale

Policy Information
Policy Type Academics
Policy Number: 4.2.09
Date Policy Issued: October 10, 2005

Policy Owner: Chief Academic Officer

Policy Statement:

The home program for a course has the authority to set the grading standard for that course. The grading standard for the course must, at a minimum, meet the adopted college standard; however, the standard for a course or program may be more stringent. The home program is defined as the program that has responsibility of developing and maintaining the curriculum and syllabus for the course. The home program for MATC courses is denoted by the three letter code prior to the course number.

Policy Rational:

MATC has adopted a college wide minimum grading standard; however, some programs have adopted a more stringent grading standard for their program of study and courses.
