Manhattan Area Technical College Financial Aid Terms and Conditions

By accepting your financial aid offer and using the Financial Aid Portal, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Eligibility and Enrollment
Financial aid is awarded based on your enrollment and the course attendance required for your declared program of study. Any changes in enrollment, including withdrawal or failure to complete courses, may affect your eligibility and the amount of aid received. Aid is contingent upon official admission, enrollment in eligible classes, and meeting all disbursement requirements.

  2. Aid Adjustments and Additional Resources
Offers are contingent on the availability of funds and must be renewed each academic year. Receipt of additional scholarships, grants, or external funding may result in adjustments to your financial aid package. Aid may be modified or canceled due to changes in eligibility or errors in the determination process.

  3. Disbursement and Refunds
Financial aid funds will begin disbursing approximately 30 days after classes start. Refunds will be processed after disbursement. Aid will be applied to your student account to cover tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. You are responsible for any remaining balance.

  4. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
To maintain eligibility, you must meet SAP standards, including:
    • Completing at least 75% of attempted credit hours
    • Maintaining a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Completing your program within 150% of the required credit hours

  5. Withdrawal and Repayment
If you completely withdraw from the semester, you may be required to repay all or part of the aid disbursed. Please review the SAP and Withdrawal Policies for more information.

  6. Communication and Responsibilities
You must actively accept or decline aid via the Financial Aid Portal or in writing. Official communication will be sent to your Manhattan Tech email account, which you must check regularly. You are responsible for understanding and complying with all financial aid policies.

  7. Work-Study
Federal Work-Study recipients must enroll in the semester following any break during which they work.

  8. Dual Enrollment
Financial aid can only be awarded at one institution per enrollment period.

Accepting your financial aid confirms your understanding of and agreement to these terms and conditions.
