Associate Degree Nursing

The Associate Degree of Nursing program is a selective admission program with specific application requirements.

Specific program requirements, program selection, and acceptance criteria are subject to change at any time and without notice. It is the applicant’s responsibility to keep informed of current program requirements.

Manhattan Area Technical College does not require vaccinations. Manhattan Tech partners with multiple health systems and healthcare providers to provide clinical and programmatic experiences for our students; many of our clinical partners require all students to have received COVID-19 and other vaccines before their on-site experiences and training may begin. As a result, unvaccinated students could be precluded from participating in these activities, potentially impacting their ability to complete all program requirements. 

Exemption Process

Students may seek a medical or religious exemption from an immunization requirement. Approval for an exemption is dependent on the clinical site. Below is the process for requesting an exemption:

* Tuition listed is based on approved rates for the 2024–2025 academic year. Rates are approved each year by the Manhattan Tech Board of Directors and estimated budgets are updated at that time.

Students awarded Federal Direct Loan(s) also have an average of the mandatory loan fees automatically added to their COA.

Students with disability-related expenses may contact the Financial Aid Office to have their additional expenses considered. Disability-related expenses include but are not limited to: personal assistance, equipment, and supplies. The Financial Aid Office may potentially include disability expenses in the COA that are not provided by other assisting agencies.

1. Integrate caring behaviors in practicing the art and science of nursing within a diverse population.
2. Implement professional standards and scope of practice within legal, ethical, and regulatory frame works.
3. Collaborate with clients and members of the inter-professional health care team to optimize client outcomes.
4. Formulate safe and effective clinical judgements guided by the nursing process, clinical reasoning, and evidenced-based practice.
5. Provide leadership in the management of care to meet client needs using available resources and current technology.
6. Generate teaching and learning processes to promote and maintain health and reduce risk for a global population.
7. Demonstrate effective communication methods to manage client needs and to interact with other healthcare team members.

Some academic programs require you to have equipment, tools, supplies, and uniforms on the first day of class. Other programs have compiled a tool kit that is required for the students attending those programs. The tool kits and supplies will be available on program orientation day. On program orientation, day students must submit a non-refundable seat deposit. Refer to the information below for each program's seat deposit and tool requirements.

NOTE: Cybersecurity (TBD) and Electrical Technology ($350.00) programs are still pending start dates.
