As a way to increase student retention and success, the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) offers multiple options for Manhattan Tech students to receive tutoring and academic assistance.
Tutoring is offered on campus and online. Peer Tutors are available in several academic areas on campus. The TLC has also partnered with Brainfuse to bring live, one-on-one online tutoring to all Manhattan Tech students. This includes access to an Online Writing Lab allowing students to work with professional writing tutors.
Here you will find more information about the tutoring and academic services offered by the TLC.
Brainfuse HelpNow offers students free, live on-demand tutoring in a variety of college subjects. Students communicate in real-time with a tutor through the Brainfuse Online Classroom. Tutoring sessions can be saved and viewed later for review.
Students also have access to the Brainfuse Online Writing Lab. The writing lab allows students to submit written assignments for review by a professional writing expert.
To access Brainfuse you must have a Manhattan Tech username and password, and be signed into MATConline or Canvas. Click here to get started, or contact the TLC today for a demo.
Brainfuse tutors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in math, writing, and reading. Other subject areas are available according to the schedule listed HERE.

The TLC offers both professional and peer tutoring on campus.
Student peer tutors allow colleges to meet the needs of students within many academic disciplines. Being a peer tutor can help students build valuable communication skills, reinforce their own knowledge, and provide self-confidence needed in demanding labor markets.
Currently, the TLC employs several peer tutors specializing in math and algebra, writing and communications, science, medication math, drafting, and networking.
Peer tutors are available Monday - Friday for appointments and walk-ins.
For more information about peer tutoring or information about how to become a peer tutor please contact Darren S. Ortega, the Director of Academic Resources & Testing, at TLC@manhattantech.edu.
