Information for Students & Guests

Location: University Christian Church (UCC), 2800 Claflin Road, Manhattan, KS 66502
Nursing Pinning and Commencement: Friday, May 15 – 2:00 PM
Commencement (All Other Programs): Saturday, May 16 – 10:00 AM

Arrival & Check-In

  • Arrive no later than 45 minutes before your ceremony, dressed in your cap and gown.
  • Check in at the registration desk to receive your name card.
  • Graduates will be staged alphabetically by program.
  • There is no secured storage for personal items. Please leave valuables in your vehicle or with guests.

Parking

  • Parking is available at UCC and surrounding lots.
  • Students and families may also park at Manhattan Tech and carpool to the venue.

Guest Information

  • Guest seating is open 30 minutes before the ceremony and is first-come, first-served. A livestream will be available at: manhattantech.edu/commencement.
  • Staff will take photos of each graduate after they cross the stage. Photos will be available by June 30, 2026, at: manhattantech.edu/SP26CommencementPhotos. Guests are asked to remain seated throughout the ceremony.

Attire

  • Wear appropriate clothing under your gown (e.g., collared shirts, slacks, dress shoes). Caps, gowns, and tassels are required.
  • Tassels start on the right and will be moved to the left when directed by the president.

Ceremony Process

  • Graduates will be led in and seated in alphabetical order. When your row is dismissed, bring your name card with you. Hand your card to the reader and wait for your name to be announced before crossing the stage.
  • Follow ushers for photos, then return to your seat.

Receiving Your Award

  • You will receive a leather diploma cover during the ceremony. Your official award and one free transcript will be mailed to the address you verify at check-in. If you need a transcript sooner, you must submit a formal request and pay the fee.
  • Awards and transcripts will be mailed 12–14 weeks after final grades are posted and all obligations are met, including but not limited to: 
    • Financial Aid exit counseling, Student account balance paid in full, Completion of the “Intent to Graduate” form
