How Can I Prepare?

The tips for preparing and answering questions from HLC peer reviewers are similar to preparing for a job interview:

Be prepared

  • Review your resources and handouts
  • Think about how you and your role fits into each criterion
  • Practice
  • Speak clearly, confidently, and enthusiastically, and vary your tone and body language
  • Be honest
  • Be brief and concise, but also specific and factual; use examples and data if possible
  • Listen carefully to the questions and ask for clarification if needed; take your time to think
  • If you don’t know the answer to a question, admit it! Try to relate it to something you do know or have learned.
