Fall 2020 Commencement Update - Posted 9/11

Author: Manhattan Tech

Dear Manhattan Tech Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 graduates,

Providing you and your families with the opportunity to celebrate your tremendous accomplishment of earning a MATC degree is incredibly important. We are finalizing plans for Fall 2020 Commencement, and we want you to be among the first to receive this information.

We know many of our graduates and their families were terribly disappointed when Commencement was cancelled in May. As we have monitored the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic and its impact, we considered many options and have had to adjust our original Commencement date and the format. The new Commencement date will be Friday, December 11th at the KSU Student Ballroom (Time TBD). Unfortunately, due to unpredictability of COVID and to eliminate the need for travel and the possibility of last-minute cancellations this ceremony will not be open for attendance in person by graduate’s guests/family members. While it is possible conditions may continue to improve by December, committing to a live-stream event with just the Spring and Fall 2020 graduates will provide safety for each of our graduates, your families, and our faculty/staff members.

Please know that our College community values you and your successes. All of our graduates demonstrate strength and persistence, but you — the Class of 2020 in particular — have faced a situation unlike anything other graduates have experienced before, one we hope no other class has to endure. Earning your degree during such uncertain times is an emblem of your adaptability and determination. We are incredibly proud of you, and I hope you will be able to join us for these celebratory ceremonies.

Graduates of Spring 2020 expect to receive additional information on October 1st in regards to signing up for attendance at the Fall 2020 ceremony. As more information becomes available, it will be shared accordingly. Please note that, due to the fluidity of the current circumstances, our event operations could be impacted and are subject to change. If changes occur we will communicate them as quickly as they become available.

If there are questions or concerns please address them to safety@manhattantech.edu

Sincerely,

Manhattan Area Technical College
