A Letter of Accommodations (LOA) is a document provided by the Student Services Office that explains to faculty the reasonable accommodations for a student. The Letter of Accommodations is given to students who have met all of the following criteria:
The letter contains course accommodations the college recommends based on the student's disability.
THIS INFORMATION IS CONFIDENTIAL
Accommodations are required by law under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Accommodations are provided to minimize the impact of the functional limitations of a disability in a classroom. Accommodations are not required to provide a fundamental alteration of a course or program. Students with authorized accommodations will provide a Letter of Accommodations document to each instructor informing them of the approved academic adjustments approved for each course. Students are encouraged to discuss their accommodations with the instructor; however, the student is not required to disclose or discuss specific disability-related information.

Additional Notes:
John would like you to know that he has ADHD and can be easily distracted.
After the necessary accommodations are made, the student should be graded according to the same standards used for other Manhattan Tech students. The Student Services Office welcomes your input and questions regarding this process. Please contact accommodations@manhattantech.edu or 785-587-2800. Thank you for helping to make Manhattan Tech an accessible and equitable place to obtain an education.
