Accreditation Criteria

How Will HLC Evaluate Us?

HLC uses a standard set of accreditation criteria. for all institutions. Each of the five criterion below has core components and sub criteria for an institution to address.

  1. Mission
  2. Integrity: Ethical and Responsible Conduct
  3. Teaching and Learning: Quality, Resources, and Support
  4. Teaching and Learning: Evaluation and Improvement
  5. Institutional Effectiveness, Resources, and Planning

The accreditation criteria are built on a set of assumed practices. that institutions must be in compliance with at all times, such as the assumption (A10) that an institution is in compliance with all applicable laws. Additionally, MATC has to meet federal compliance. regulations, such as the posting of certain information on our website, as part of our accreditation.
