Job Description

Good Shepherd Homecare & Hospice has been the trusted source for compassionate care, serving Manhattan and surrounding communities for over 45 years. We are excited to announce opportunities for a positive and caring professionals to join our team as a part-time CNA/CHHA at the Good Shepherd Hospice House.

We currently have an opening for a Part-time Night Shift CNA/CHHA. The team at the Good Shepherd provides quality hospice care to clients 24 hours a day to clients and families residing at our Good Shepherd Hospice House. These positions work one 12-hour shift per week, 7pm-7am.

The role of our CNA/CHHA in hospice includes:

• Provides personal care (bathing, dressing, hair care, skin care and oral hygiene) to our clients.
• Assists with preparation of meals, and feeding of clients.
• Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
• Assist in ambulation and exercise, as tolerated, and according to the client’s care plan.
• Perform hospice house and client room housekeeping duties.
• Reports on client’s condition to the nurse on duty.

Skills and abilities:

• Understanding and acceptance of the hospice philosophy.
• A caring and compassionate approach to work.
• Strong ability to multi-task and handle task interruptions.
• Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
• Ability to positively interact with team members and family members.

Qualifications

Kansas CNA License in good standing.

Salary/Pay

$13-16/hour
