This course is designed for students who have only one year of high school algebra and provides the algebraic skills necessary to begin conceptualizing abstract mathematical concepts in preparation for College Algebra. Topics covered will include Number Systems, Linear Equations and Inequalities, Lines, Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities, Polynomials, Exponents, Rational Expressions and Quadratic Equations.

Prerequisite(s): Meet placement guidelines MAT 108 Beginning Algebra with a grade of “C” or higher

This course is for students who achieve NRS EFL 1-6 on the TABE Assessment; also known as Adult Basic Education. This course prepares students to complete Reasoning Through Language Arts (English) and Social Studies coursework in preparation of the accompanying GED exams. This course can be taken separate, or in conjunction, with GED 110. This course is for students who achieve NRS EFL 7, or 8 on the TABE CLAS-E Assessment. This course helps develop basic skills for English language acquisition. This course is a pre-requisite for ESL 201.
